Learning Experience Designer, The Exploratory (Nsawam, Ghana)

Connie Shui-Yi Chow crosses siloes, sectors and continents to combine her passion and experience in science, education and social justice to create a world where more people can live up to their full potential. Connie supports The Exploratory (the-exploratory.org), a Ghana-based NGO that promotes relevant, joyful, collaborative STEM education and gender equity through teacher professional development and school-based clubs. When in Boston, she is an associate lecturer at UMass Boston focused on equity, intersectionality and activism in STEM, and spends her Sunday afternoons practicing Japanese drumming as a member of The Genki Spark. Connie is the member-founder of the Ghana STEM Network and the Africa Open Science and Hardware Summit, a STEMinist-in-residence at Suffolk University and a Ford Fellow of The OpEd Project. She is a member of the Boston chapter and the national People of Color caucus of Science for the People. Connie grew up in Hong Kong.
