Co-founder of OpenLab
My name is Jorge Marcos, I am a PhD student in Biochemical Sciences at UNAM, my work is related to Structural Biology and Synthetic Biology. I am also a professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Medicine School, UNAM and advisor of the Synthetic Biology Workshop in Science School, UNAM. In 2018 I co-founded the Mexican Network of Synthetic Biology where I’m currently coordinating an educational project to promote this new approach.
Currently, as co-founder of Open-Lab we have created an open space where you can perform experiments related to biosciences such as, DNA extraction, PCR or electrophoresis. We offer experimental and theoretical courses for the community in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Genetics.We are working on the development of research projects related to Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology in order to offer consulting to the Biofuel and Biomaterials Industry.
