Kit Martens


Lab Assistant, Open Science Network (Vancouver, Canada)

Kit is a Bio-Artist and Community Biology enthusiast with a background in biotechnology at BCIT and UBC. They are inspired by moss, lichens, and the aesthetics of decay. Kit sees biotechnology as an avenue for engineering biodegradability into common plastics, as well as a way to incorporate carbon capture into manufacturing and architecture.

They are currently involved in the Open Science Network in Vancouver, and studying at UBC the joint UBC-BCIT honours in biotechnology program.
