Fraunhofer Center for Responsible Research and Innovation, Berlin, Germany
Lynn is a design researcher at the Fraunhofer Center for Responsible Research and Innovation in Berlin. Since her studies in Communication Design, she is focusing on the innovative potential of the interdisciplinary intersection of design and science, regarding societal and environmental challenges. In terms of her job position, she is currently applying for a PHD focusing on challenges of knowlegde-transfer and societal debates in a biotechnological future.
She believes that the understanding of nature needs a radical paradigm shift in order to find feasible, tangible and reliable (biotech) solutions for current socio-ecological challenges. She is convinced that the burgeoning interdependences between social needs, science, innovation and design will not only create new roles for designers but also offers a great potential to shape planet-centered futures.
Furthermore, she explores the borders of speculative design methods to pose questions about our understanding of nature, our future coliving with non-humanbeings (natural organisms, technology) and to create tangible (biotechnological) future scenarios.
