PhD student, University of Oxford (United Kingdom) and Teaching staff, Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia)
M. Jamal M. Holle received his B.A. in Biology from Gadjah Mada University, M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Hokkaido University. He has been exploring ecological studies from plant regeneration in the volcanic forest in northern hemisphere to the forest restoration and conservation in the tropical region. His outstanding achievements have brought Jamal to win highly competitive PhD position in the University of Oxford and Indonesian scholarship to fund his studies.
Besides being PhD student at Oxford, now Jamal also works as a teaching staff in Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia and actively works in Science Innovation Union (SIU) Oxford, an organization that tries to bridge academia and industry and other sectors that translate science into policy and innovation. He is also initiating conservation project in rural Indonesia.
