Ricardo Mutuberria is a biologist (Basque Country University, Spain - University of Cincinnati, Ohio) with an MSc in Applied Biotechnology and Microbiology
(Wolverhampton University, UK) and an MSc in Science Communication (Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona). Ricardo moved from biomedical research laboratories to science museums to promote public engagement of science and scientific culture. In 2011 Ricardo joined the American Museum of Natural History as Assistant Director of Global Business Development. In 2012 Ricardo joined Genspace as a volunteer. Since 2016 Ricardo works in Barcelona and Bilbao promoting DIYbio in these and other locations. Ricardo is founder and director of Biook.org, a non profit that promotes citizen science, open science and DIYbio and runs "BBK Open Science", a yearly participatory science program and festival.
